Cornerstone bible church lilburn ga1/12/2024 Emmie is survived by her sister Virginia and Joseph Hoadley, her daughter Linda Gregg, her son Rick Loften, her grandchildren Nathan Gregg, Elizabeth and Darius Delapeta, Elijah Gregg, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents John and Lizzie Gwyn and eight brothers. She loved her family and was devoted to caring for them. Emmie was a wonderful and loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. In her last days, she was energized by the many friends that came to visit her in her home to just chat. She had the privilege of mentoring many women who crossed her path. Her passion was to study and teach the Scriptures. She also served many years at Cornerstone Bible Church as the teacher of the Mary & Martha Sunday school class which she founded in the 1980’s. Emmie retired after many years of managing the Cornerstone Christian Bookstore in Snellville, GA. In 1972, the family moved to Lilburn, GA. It was there that she really grew in her Christian walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. After a few years they moved and settled in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where she learned to study the Bible at Metropolitan Baptist Church. ![]() She moved to California as a young married girl of 18, where her husband served in the U.S. She was born October 21, 1935, in Paragould, Arkansas at the home of her parents’ cotton farm. Loften (87) passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side, on Monday, November 14, 2022. A private burial service will be held at the Camp Creek Primitive Baptist cemetery immediately preceding the memorial service at Cornerstone Bible Church.In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider a contribution toCornerstone Bible Church869 Cole RdLilburn, GA 30047Online condolences may be left at by Bill Head Funeral Home & Crematory Lilburn/Tucker Chapel.
